Description

This book is a vivid introduction into this rapidly developing interdisciplinary field and, at the same time, it is an invaluable source of information. Reviews

From Book News, Inc.
Introduces the subject by focusing on the general molecular properties rather than on the physics, which is more common. Wagnière (physical chemistry, U. of Zurich) is not so much concerned with the theory and observation as with the interrelation between the different effects, which he illustrates clearly with graphs. He includes detailed mathematical derivations, but compiles them in appendices so that readers with an elementary knowledge of quantum mechanics and electrodynamics should have no trouble.
